Seven years later, Endgame is once again the highest-grossing film of all time

...and Anthony and Joe Russo are celebrating the fans who brought it back there.
When Anthony and Joe Russo made Avengers: Endgame, they set out to give audiences a meaningful conclusion to more than a decade of storytelling. What followed was bigger than anything they could have anticipated: a global theatrical experience shared by millions of fans around the world.
Now, seven years later, audiences have come together once again.
Thanks to the incredible response to Avengers Endgame: Encore, Endgame has officially surpassed Avatar to reclaim its place as the highest-grossing film of all time worldwide, with an estimated $2.9255 billion at the global box office.
However, this milestone belongs first and foremost to the fans.

ONE MORE TIME, TOGETHER
The Russo Brothers have always talked about movies as a communal experience. The feeling of sitting in a packed theater, surrounded by strangers who laugh, cheer, cry, and experience a story together.
That was at the heart of Endgame in 2019, and it’s what made bringing the film back to theaters with Endgame Encore so meaningful.
Longtime fans returned. A new generation experienced Endgame on the big screen for the first time. And together, audiences around the world turned an encore into another historic moment.
To everyone who bought a ticket, brought a friend, revisited the story, or experienced it for the first time: thank you.

FROM ENDGAME TO DOOMSDAY
There’s something especially meaningful about reaching this milestone as Anthony and Joe prepare for the next Avengers chapter.
When they originally completed Endgame, there was no plan for what came after. Years later, as the story of Avengers: Doomsday began to take shape, the brothers found themselves returning to the place they had left these characters.
As Anthony recently shared, the new story ultimately “begged of us” to pick up where Endgame left off.
Now, as Endgame returns to the top of the global box office, its legacy is also helping usher in what comes next.
Seven years, countless screenings, and generations of fans later, Anthony and Joe remain incredibly grateful to everyone who continues to show up for these characters and experience these stories together.
Seven years later, we still love you 3000.
